MICHELIN® 2CT+ Technology™, which has been standard on the rear tire, is now applied to the front tire for better rigidity at lean, and more stability when cornering, especially under strong acceleration or heavy braking, compared to the previous generation.
Dedication to Innovation
The MICHELIN® Road 6 tire typifies two decades of ongoing innovations and MICHELIN® Technologies from our highest level of expertise.
Ride even longer
The MICHELIN® Road 6 tire delivers 10% longer tread life compared to the previous generation.
Touring motorcycle fans, who own machines like the BMW R 1200 RT, BMW K 1600 GT, YAMAHA FJR 1300, HONDA PAN EUROPEAN 1300, KAWASAKI 1400 GTR, TRIUMPH TROPHY,… demand specific tyres that deliver safety, comfort, long life, stability and sheer riding enjoyment irrespective of the conditions*, and even when a high number of kilometres have passed under their tread.
Developed in exactly the same spirit and to the same rigorous standards as the MICHELIN Road 5, the GT version packs the technological advances that are a hallmark of the other tyres that make up the Road 5 range.
To address the exacting demands expressed by owners of this type of motorcycle, the MICHELIN Road 5 GT places the emphasis on performance, notably on wet roads, along with stability and efficient braking, especially in instances where riders are caught out by poor weather. Following in-house comparative tests, the new tyre came out on top in terms of grip and braking performance on wet roads**, even when as much as 50 percent worn.
Using the latest combined technologies of MICHELIN 2CT and 2CT+ and the latest generation of compounds and siped tread, MICHELIN Road 5 tyres offer you the best wet grip versus its main competitors without compromise on dry roads. The Road 5 will vary from the Pilot Road 4 series in a number of ways, but most specifically in its ability to shed water from the tyre and road surface as the tyre wears. Thanks to the XST siping technology that Michelin introduced with the Pilot Road 3, the tires have a great ability to evacuate water from the tire surface ensuring the rubber connects to the road. As the tire wears down, the grooves in the tyres decrease in volume and thus are less effective in evacuating water.
The new Road 5 sipes, now called XST Evo, has been adapted from Michelin’s automotive division. The technology is borrowed from Michelin’s Evergrip tread design which was first introduced in the MICHELIN Premier A/S tyre in 2014.
The combination of three technologies helped the MICHELIN ROAD 5 to deliver the best wet-weather grip in a recent in-house comparison with the new tyre’s five main rivals.
To achieve this level of performance, the MICHELIN ROAD 5 benefits from:
Latest-generation rubber compounds,
Dual-compound technology (MICHELIN 2CT and MICHELIN 2CT+ Technology),
These Sport Touring tyres are long-lasting and provide grip and traction thanks to their dual compound technology, straight from the MotoGP racetrack.

Michelin Pilot Road 3 – moto pneumatiky
MICHELIN Pilot Road 3 tyres have innovative sipes, born out of our X-Sipe Technology, providing better grip on wet surfaces for added safety. And they look pretty different too! Long-lasting tyres thanks to their MICHELIN dual compound 2CT technology, which ensures the tyre wears in a uniform way and that its performance qualities last for longer. YAMAHA chose them as Original Equipment for
their MT07 model.

Michelin Pilot Road 4 – mc tyres
Thanks to 2CT technology with brand new tread compounds and a redesigned tread pattern, MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 tyres last on average 20% longer than MICHELIN Pilot Road 3 tyres. These tyres feature chamfered sipe edges that help prevent abnormal wear in extreme conditions and under heavy braking.
